After riding the pine all season long, former "quarterback of the future" Drew Henson will spend his offseason in Europe. The Dallas Cowboys have announced that Henson and two other young players, WR Tom Crowder and CB Lenny Williams, will spend their summer playing in NFL Europe.

This news is a bit depressing considering that Henson was brought in to be the Cowboys starting quarterback and was awarded with an 8-year guaranteed contract that paid him 3.5 million dollars back in 2004 (the contract can be voided after four years). Henson was inactive this entire season after being relegated to the no. 3 quarterback position behind Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo. He has started exactly one game for the Dallas Cowboys and has thrown only 18 passes thus far in his career. He was pulled in favor of an ancient Vinny Testaverde in the one game that he did start back in '04.

Luckily, the former baseball player still has plenty of time to develop into a starting caliber quarterback. He's only 25 years old, and that's still very young for an NFL quarterback. Hopefully, a stint in NFL Europe will help turn Drew Henson's career around.
