How desperate are the Dallas Cowboys for wide receivers?

Yesterday, they acquired Charlie Adams from the Denver Broncos for an undisclosed draft choice. Although he appeared in all 16 games in 2005 for Denver, Adams only caught 21 balls for 203 yards. He also returned punts and kickoffs, notching 351 return yards. Unfortunately, his most notable stats in 2005 were his four fumbles, though he only lost one of them.

The third-year player was originally signed by Denver as an undrafted free agent from Hofstra. In 2003 and 2004, Adams appeared in a total of eight games, exclusively on special teams where he had a total of two punt returns.

(8/19 Editor's Note: Adams failed his physical with the Cowboys, sending him back to Denver. The trade has been voided. Thank you.)
