The Dallas Cowboys cut fullback Richie Anderson. He may retire after suffering a serious neck injury in December of last year which required surgery.

Anderson had been a backup in Dallas. The Cowboys drafted RB Marion Barber III from the University of Minnesota in the fourth round to fill his spot.

A former standout for the Penn State Nittany Lions, Anderson began his professional career with New York Jets in 1993. He stayed in New York with the team until 2002. In 12 seasons with the Jets and Cowboys, the veteran has recorded 318 attempts for 1,274 yards and 4 TDs on the ground; through the air, he has 82 catches for 400 yards and 14 TDs.
