The Dallas Cowboys came to terms with running back Anthony Thomas. The free agent agreed to a 1 year contract with the team.

Thomas is expected to provide depth in the backfield. Julius Jones is entrenched as the Cowboys' starter.

The Chicago Bears chose not to resign Anthony Thomas. The team instead drafted Cedric Benson with fourth overall pick in this year's draft. The Bears also signed Thomas Jones - Julius' older brother - to a new 4 year deal.

The 6'2", 225 lbs. Thomas is a short-yardage threat who had 404 yards on 122 attempts (3.3 average) and 2 touchdowns. In 4 years as a pro with the Bears, the Michigan product ran 858 times for 3,332 yards and 67 TDs.
