Dolphins release Jay Fiedler and Shawn Wooden

The Miami Dolphins terminated the contracts of quarterback Jay Fiedler and safety Arturo Freeman, who failed his physical.

Last season, Fiedler started seven games for the Dolphins and completed 101 of 190 passes for 1,186 yards. He threw 7 TD passes and was intercepted 8 times. Furthermore, Fiedler owns several Dolphins QB rushing records.

Wooden spent the entire 2004 season on the team's physically unable to perform list with a lower back injury. A sixth round draft pick of the Dolphins in 1996, Wooden played eight seasons for Miami. He also briefly played for the Chicago Bears earlier in his career.
