After C Drew Mormino failed a physical, the Dolphins released the veteran and signed former Texans C Steve McKinney.

Mormino, a sixth-round pick in 2007, was a possible starter in 2008, according to new coach Tony Sparano. But a shoulder injury that kept him out of action in 2007 hadn't healed enough for him to be counted on this year. The signing of McKinney gives the Dolphins experience along the interior offensive line, a unit that has been vastly improved from last season.

Commentary: McKinney can play center or left guard, but likely, they will start second-year Samson Satele at center and move G Justin Smiley to his more natural position on the right side. McKinney, assuming he is fully ready to play after a torn ACL in his left knee last season limited him to 13 games, can handle the left guard duties and help rookie LT Jake Long.

Fantasy Impact: It's early and it's only on paper, but the Dolphins' improvements on the offensive line alone are enough to make fantasy owners thing twice about tagging them as a 1-15 team. With RB Ronnie Brown being one of the best fantasy backs available when healthy, a strong offensive line can only mean big numbers for him.
