Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter has now publicly ripped the New England Patriots for cheating their way to championships. He also went on to insinuate that the NFL’s destruction of Spygate tapes indicates that the league has something to hide.

Commentary: Porter spent eight seasons as a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Dolphins last season. It certainly appears that the Patriots' decision to tape his Steelers play-calling signals before their 2002 AFC championship game, one that his team lost by a score of 24-17, prompted his recent statements.

“If you’re telling me that happened, there’s no way I can look at it and feel like I didn’t get cheated,” Porter said on ESPN's NFL Live. “They cheated, there should be an asterisk.”

He also went on to rip the NFL’s handling of the situation: “Why, if you have nothing to hide, would you destroy [the evidence]? That's how I've looked at it from the beginning. Why destroy something that doesn't have to be destroyed? Let everyone know what was on the tapes. Why would you destroy them so fast?"
