Welker reminds me of another solid pint-sized WR

As I watched Wes Welker make plays on offense during the Miami Dolphins resounding victory over the Denver Broncos a certain thought kept coming to mind..."this guy looks like the second coming of Wayne Chrebet."

I know I know. Chrebet is a Jet, and most Dolfans hate him because of all the times that he driven a knife in the heart of the Dolphins on third down conversions and touchdown catches. Look past that for a minute and you'll realize that Wayne Chrebet was one of the most effective possession receivers in the game for a half-dozen years or so.

I see a similar mix of hands, quickness, and tenacity in our mini receiver. Wes Welker was the team's second leading receiver yesterday. He caught four passes for 60 yards. Three of those catches were on third down and were good for first downs. Remind you of anyone?

I am convinced that if he can stay healthy, Welker can become a key component in the Miami Dolphins offensive scheme. Apparently this new (and vastly improved) coaching staff agrees.

The funny thing is that this guy was on our roster all of last year, but do you think that our previous coaching staff thought to give him a shot on offense? Of course not.
