The Miami Dolphins finished the preseason 3-1 and have made roster moves to finalize their squad and take on the New York Jets in this Sunday's opener.

The team closed the preseason against the New Orleans Saints with a 14-10 win in a game that showcased the talent of second-round rookie quarterback Chad Henne, who went 16-of-20 for 137 yards. More importantly, he looked poised and confident in the pocket and in tune with his receivers. As a result of his fine preseason, Henne will enter the season as new starter Chad Pennington's backup.

At receiver, the Dolphins will start the season with Ted Ginn Jr. atop the depth chart, while Derek Hagan will line up on the opposite side.

Anthony Fasano will be starting at tight end, backed up by David Martin and Sean Ryan.

Ricky Williams not only got the starting job at running back ahead of Ronnie Brown, but the Dolphins also signed him to a one-year contract extension that will keep him in the Miami backfield through 2010.

Defensively, linebackers Joey Porter, Matt Roth, Channing Crowder and Akin Ayodele will highlight coordinator Paul Pasqualoni’s 3-4 scheme. Roth is starting at outside linebacker for the Dolphins after spending his previous three seasons in the NFL as an end.

Nose tackle Jason Ferguson, LE Kendall Langford and RE Vonnie Holliday round out the starting D-line.

Andre Goodman and Will Allen will start at the corners with safeties Chris Crocker and Yeremiah Bell backing up them up down the field.

With Pennington facing his former team and future Hall of Famer Brett Favre making his Jets debut, this particular Week 1 matchup has become the NFL’s marquee Sunday game.

Pennington will be looking to improve on his 2-2 record as a Week 1 starter and Favre surely is eager to lead his new team as captain and make Green Bay regret trading him.

Four of the last five games of this series have been decided by four points or fewer, and the team that has won the turnover battle has emerged victorious 21 of the last 25 times.

The Jets lead the all-time regular-season series 45-38-1 between these teams, and they have won 16 of the last 20 games dating back to 1998.
