Sometimes dominant and sometimes horrible, the 2-4 Miami Dolphins have been quite inconsistent this season. They'll find out what they're really made of this weekend against AFC East rival Buffalo, which leads the division at 5-1. The game represents a crossroad for the Dolphins, who can either keep their heads above water or drown in a similar fashion as last season.

Commentary: The Dolphins certainly aren't the only team in the NFL that has had difficulty putting together consistent efforts. There are no powerhouses this season, which has led to an endless game of king of the hill. Miami should be applauded for its resiliency after a 1-15 record last season that made it the punchline of most football jokes. And in reality, only seven points separate them from being a 4-2 team. But now isn't the time for what-ifs against the Bills, arguably the second-best team in the NFL.

A win this weekend would get Miami to 3-4, at least in the playoff discussion. A defeat, however, would likely sink the Dolphins for good this year.

Fan Pulse: A few Dolphins fanatics think it might be time to downgrade their preseason predictions of Miami: http://www.phins.com/phorum/read.php?3,7373.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
RB Ronnie Brown is a great sell-high candidate right now, particularly considering he has to face a Bills defense that hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher all season. Brown is still a solid start every week, but you should consider a third running back option if you have one.

Injury Watch: DT Jason Ferguson's injury was crucial to last week's loss, largely because Miami's 3-4 defense suffers without his ability to clog running lanes. He'll likely miss the Buffalo game, thus paving the way for Randy Starks.
