It looks like last year's homefield woes were nothing more than an aberration. The Miami Dolphins are back to their unbeatable ways in September. Hopefully, the team can continue to dominate through October, November, and beyond.

One of the perceived home field advantages that the Dolphins possess is the oppressive heat and humidity that opposing teams are forced to play in, although I'm not sure how much of a factor that was against a Carolina team that also practices and plays in an extremely hot climate early in the season.

Another major factor is the fairly ravenous crowd at Dolphins Stadium. It may not always be filled to the brim (despite always having "sellouts"), but the fans that do manage to get to the stadium make sure that they yell until they have no more voice. Although, that does tend to disrupt the opposition and pump up the Miami Dolphins players, I don't think that crowd noise made the difference in either the Broncos or Panthers game.

I think the main factor that contributes to Dolphins home dominance is a mystique of sorts. Players just seem to have a "this is our house" mentality that manifests itself in improved play.

Look at a guy like Gus Frerotte. He looked solid in week one at home, anemic in week two in New York, then steady once again when back at home. Likewise, the offensive line was impressive in week one, putrid in week two, then stellar in week three.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but it I guess it doesn't really matter what the reason is as long as the Dolphins just keep winning...and a road victory or two wouldn't hurt either!

We'll have a chance a snatching our first road win two Sundays from now against the wounded Buffalo Bills.
