The 2008 Miami Dolphins have pulled off a miraculous comeback from the seventh circle of football hell, going from a one-win train wreck to a team that's one victory away from clinching the AFC East. Why is it, then, that all I see on ESPN and other sports networks is Brett Favre's gray-bearded mug frowning?

Commentary: The 39-year-old Favre, who leads the NFL with 19 interceptions, is clearly past his prime and is a big reason why the Jets have gone from playoff shoo-in to a team that needs to beat Miami this weekend and get some help just to make the postseason. It never fails, though, with news outlets constantly asking whether Favre will be back next season. The question is: Who cares? At this point, Favre is getting by on name recognition alone and is undeserving of his Pro Bowl spot; he's the polar opposite of steady, underrated Dolphins QB Chad Pennington, whom New York jettisoned in favor of Favre over the summer.

Fan Pulse:
Thanks to the fans at Phins.com for setting the record straight on some old forum threads I used. Here's a new one discussing which is the better Hollywood ending -- a win by Favre or Pennington this weekend.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
You can't spell Dolphins without the 'D', and I am betting that their defensive front will find a way to make Favre pay for his lack of fundamentals and atrocious play recently. Aside from the Dolphins' defense and Pennington, it is anyone's guess who will fare well in fantasy scoring.

Injury Watch:
LB Channing Crowder was held out of Wednesday's practice with a sore knee. It is uncertain whether he will play Sunday.
