Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano, may we have a word with you? It's obviously important to believe in your players and push them to be their best; at what point, though, do you that say enough is enough for a player like Ernest Wilford?

Everyone loves comeback stories and seeing people beat the odds, but it isn't happening with Wilford, who has been a disappointment throughout his five-year career. Miami signed the former Virginia Tech star and ex-Jacksonville Jaguar to a lucrative contract last year, but he thoroughly disappointed in his first season with the Dolphins. Want evidence? The 6-foot-4, 223-pound Wilford appeared in just seven games and caught a mere three passes for 25 yards.

In last month's NFL draft, Miami nabbed two receivers -- Patrick Turner and Brian Hartline -- who are expected to leapfrog Wilford on its depth chart. Add those two to a list that includes Ted Ginn Jr., Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess, and it's clear Wilford's days in Miami are likely numbered.

At this point, the clock is ticking on Wilford's release. We'll call it the Ernest Wilford Countdown.
