He's had plenty of time to think about what the 2008 NFL season should have ended like and how far his team could have gone in the playoffs with him. A season-ending knee injury had its say in that decision and now the veteran can't wait to get on the field and do damage in the AFC East in 2009. His impact could decide who sits atop the division at season's end.

We're talking about Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, right? Wrong. Actually, it's Miami Dolphins wide receiver Greg Camarillo, who was having a breakout year pre-injury in 2008.

As good as the Miami Dolphins were, they would have been even better if the veteran hadn't gone down with a torn ACL. He's not exactly a celebrated player, but opposing teams that forget about Camarillo often pay a price. Last year, in fact, Camarillo, 27, racked up personal bests in catches (55) and yards (613) despite missing five games. His presence also takes pressure off Miami's other wideouts, namely Davone Bess and the more hyped Ted Ginn Jr.

Camarillo practiced last Thursday in organized team activities, getting involved in individual and team drills. While he isn't up to speed just yet, Camarillo's involvement shows the injury isn't having any significant effects; for that, Dolphins fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

How big of an impact will Camarillo have in '09, though? A knee injury can change the course of a player's career, especially a receiver. Nevertheless, that shouldn't stop him from being an important part of the Dolphins' offense this season. He still is reliable and stands as the most dependable receiver the Dolphins have when he is healthy.

Brady is obviously the most important AFC East player returning from a knee injury this year, but don't forget about Camarillo.
