If the NFL had a Super Bowl to decide what team has the most contemporary musicians, the Miami Dolphins would have to be the favorite. Jimmy Buffet has his name all over the Dolphins, literally, as the team's stadium is named after his beer, Landshark Lager. Now Gloria Estefan, lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine, and her husband, Emilio, have a minority ownership with the team. There's no word if "The Rhythm is Going to Get You" will be the team's fight song or if coach Tony Sparano will start playing bongos.

The move is a positive one. Though the Estefans won't have any real say over the team, it represents a step toward showing the community in Miami that they matter. The Estefans have been solid representatives of the Cuban-American community and it can only do good to show that part of the Miami community that the Dolphins want a member in their ranks.

The Estefans coming on board may eventually end up selling tickets. Fans love displays of loyalty and this definitely is one of those times. It will be interesting to see who else shows up looking for a part of the Dolphins' ownership.
