Dolphins would be sick to take Vick

Former NFL head coach Dennis Green recently said on Sirius Radio that formerly imprisoned quarterback Michael Vick could wind up in a Miami Dolphins uniform.

"I have a hard time believing that Michael Vick is not going to wind up with Bill Parcells, simply because [Parcells] has that creativeness that says no matter what it takes, he's going to find a way to get Michael Vick," said Green. "Now, whether it means convincing the commissioner or whatever it takes, Michael Vick is probably going to wind up at Miami because of the fact Bill Parcells is Bill Parcells."

Sounds a little crazy, doesn't it?

After all, Parcells didn't even approve of defensive end Jason Taylor's stint on "Dancing with the Stars" last offseason. In addition, Parcells has already dealt with the media headache of running a team whose roster included Terrell Owens.

Aside from his indefensible off-field behavior that involved the killing of dogs, there are plenty of reasons for Miami to avoid Vick. Most importantly, nobody knows how much the time away from football has affected his skills, which is really all you're looking for with Vick. So, if he's slowed down, then what good is he?

The Dolphins used a second-round pick in April's NFL draft on Pat White, who could turn into a Vick-like performer for their "Wildcat" formation. On the other hand, Vick has shown himself as a dishonest, cocky and flat-out unintelligent individual. Thus, why risk tainting the image of your franchise for him?

Vick will get his second chance somewhere; it just shouldn't be Miami.
