On Monday night, the Miami Dolphins delivered one of their most electrifying performances in recent years, pulling off a spectacular come-from-behind victory over the hated New York Jets. It was a victory for the ages, and it was a showcase for the nation, but most importantly, it provided a handful of legitimate reasons for cautious optimism. Here are a few that stuck out in my mind:

Ronnie Brown - His partner in crime, Ricky Williams, was fantastic as well, but it was Brown that was the offensive catalyst from the first drive until the last drive. As he went, so did the Dolphins' offense. Brown is on pace to rush for over 1,400 yards and roughly 18 touchdowns. He has also mastered the Wildcat. If he stays healthy and Miami chooses to re-sign him, they'll be securing the rights to one of the NFL's elite running backs.

Sean Smith - He once again flashed his special blend of skill and physical ability, breaking up a deep pass attempt to Braylon Edwards down the left sideline. Though just a rookie, Smith is already establishing himself as a legitimate shutdown, play-making corner.

Chad Henne - You know you did something special when you get the ESPN analysts to stop talking about Mark Sanchez. Henne was nearly perfect on Monday, displaying all of his athletic tools as well as a penchant for making big plays in pressure situations. It's still early, but thus far, the former Michigan standout is looking like the franchise quarterback the Dolphins have been looking for since Dan Marino retired.

Ted Ginn - Just when you thought he was washed up, Ginn makes the kind of play that reminds you why he was such a blue chipper at Ohio State. Hopefully, Monday night's deep touchdown connection will be come a regular occurrence now that Henne is at the helm.

Tony Sparano - Any head coach that's willing to insert a rookie quarterback late in the fourth quarter of closely contested game gets my vote of confidence. In Sparano we trust.
