On Friday, I said that the Miami Dolphins wouldn't have too much trouble securing a win against the Cleveland Browns. Boy was I wrong.

The Browns absolutely demolished the Dolphins, shutting them out 22-0. A couple of key issues stuck out in my mind after the game.

Firstly, it seemed like the defense didn't come to play, especially against the run. Miami allowed Reuben Droughns, who is normally considered more of a workhorse type of runner, to bust out with a 75-yard touchdown run. The saddest part of it all was the lack of pursuit after the initial missed tackle by Travis Daniels. Only Jason Taylor and Sam Madison were alert enough to make a decent effort at preventing the touchdown. The rest of the defense seemed to be playing at half-speed on that play.

Secondly, the Sage Rosenfels expirement should be over after this week. When you complete 5 of 10 passes for 14 yards with a pair of picks you don't get another chance to start. Cleo Lemon anyone?

Thirdly, boy Ronnie Brown is a special back! Today he busted out a couple of kamakazi runs that reminded me of Earl Campbell. That kid sure is hard to take down. Ricky Williams is no slouch either. He gained over 80 yards on just 13 carries.

Lastly, the Miami Dolphins need to draft a quarterback. Unless a top-flight young quarterback becomes available through free agency our first pick in the 2006 NFL draft should be devoted to upgrading that position. The Dolphins will never be elite if they can't secure a legitimate starting quarterback.
