MIAMI, FL - The Miami Dolphins signed free agent safety Travares Tillman, in a move to help rebuild their depleted secondary.

At 6' 1", 190 lbs., Tillman had 5 tackles in just 6 games with the Carolina Panthers last season before missing the rest of the games with a broken arm. He has appeared in just 13 games over the last 2 years for Carolina.

The Dolphins, who released starting FS Arturo Freeman and backup Shawn Wooden last week, is not expected to re-sign starting SS and unrestricted free agent Sammy Knight.

A 5 year veteran, Tillman has 69 tackles and one interception in 41 games, including 11 starts. Tillman was a second-round draft pick in 2000 by Buffalo. He spent three seasons with the Bills before joining Carolina.
