Just when it looked like Seth McKinney was developing into a reliable NFL center, the 4th year lineman suffered a setback. The Miami Dolphins announced that the former Texas A&M star was placed on IR after suffering an injury to his knee in Sunday's victory over the Chargers.

Although the free agent to be has started in every game for the past two seasons McKinney has struggled at times, committing a lot of false start and holding penalties, but lately had come on strong and become the leader of the offensive line. The nature of his knee injury was extremely odd in that there are no signs of injury to any ligaments or cartilage. McKinney may seek a second opinion regarding surgery, but either way his season has come to a premature end.

Fortunately, the Miami Dolphins didn't miss a beat when McKinney left the game on Sunday. Guard Rex Hadnot took over at the center position, a position he is very familiar with having played it in college, and guard Alonzo Ephraim took over Hadnot's position and filled in capably.

That alignment is likely to be what we will see this Sunday when the Dolphins host the New York Jets.
