Miami, Florida - The Miami Dolphins signed former Pro Bowl DE Kevin Carter to a 5 year deal and cut David Boston after the wide receiver failed his physical.

A 10 year NFL veteran, Carter spent the last four years with Tennessee, but was released by the Titans in a salary cap cutting move in February.

The Dolphins added their second defensive end of the free-agent signing period - the team also signed free agent defensive end Vonnie Holliday - and are expected to have all four defensive line starters back.

Carter could move to tackle, where he spent part of last season while leading a young Titans line. The 6' 5", 290 lbs. DE has never missed a game, totaling 598 tackles, 86 sacks, 9 fumble recoveries and 16 forced fumbles. He earned Pro Bowl trips in 1999 and 2002 and was a part of the Rams' Super Bowl title after the 1999 season. He was traded to the Titans for a 1st round draft pick in 2001.

Boston was signed before the 2004 season, but missed the entire year with a knee injury. In December, he was suspended by the NFL for four games for testing positive for steroids. The troubled WR has denied using steroids.
