After having previously set restrictions on assistant coaches, our new Dolphins coach has released the team's new policy restricting access to players. Inspired by the success by the success by Bill Belichick, Nick Saban has adhered to limiting contact with players to the minimum allowed by the NFL.

Among the new rules:

- Fans will be able to attend only one of 6 minicamps (June 10-12), while reporters will be able to attend only 2. In past, all minicamps were open to fans and reporters. Those minicamps typically drew a couple hundred fans on weekdays and 1,000 to 2,000 on weekends. Training camp will continue to be open to fans and media.

- As is the case with many teams, reporters no longer will be permitted to conduct interviews in the locker room during minicamps and training camp. However, players will still be available elsewhere on specified days. During the regular season, the Dolphins will eliminate player interviews on Fridays to lessen the chance of injury information being leaked.

- Reporters can speak to players on three nongame days per week, the minimum required by the league.

- Unlike past years, only photographers will be allowed to watch the beginning of practice. The rest of practice remains closed.
