The Miami Dolphins conclude the 2005 draft by selecting Kevin Vickerson, DT from Michigan State. Vickerson is listed at (6'5", 310lbs, 5.09).

He played in eight games as a true freshman in 2001, started six games in 2002 and played in all 13 games as a rotating DT in 2003. He finally took over as a fulltime starter as a senior in 2004 and finished with 46 total tackles, 10.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks. Vickerson is a late-bloomer that has grown into his body over the course of the last year. He has a huge frame, good overall strength and decent agility.

Vickerson still needs to improve his technique and overall consistency, and his upside is limited by his lack of elite athleticism and speed. However, Vickerson has enough developmental potential as a two-gap DT and/or NT in the NFL.
