The Dolphins and their radio partner 790 AM "The Ticket" are still looking for a play-by-play announcer and color analyst for the upcoming season.

The list of candidates for the play-by-play job is extremely short at this point. The leading candidates are as follows:

- Jon "Boog" Schiambi, who used to call Marlins games for 560 WQAM.

- Bill Rosinski, a veteran radio announcer who used to call Carolina Panthers games.

- Mark Champion, who is coming off a stint as radio announcer for the Detroit Lions.

The list of candidates for the color commentary job is also short but a bit more intriguing. The leading candidates are as follows:

- Jim Mandich, who is a member of the '72 undefeated team and has a popular afternoon radio show on WQAM. He is a crowd favorite who is best known (and loved) for his homeristic yells and screams that he belts out when the Dolphins make a big play. It is unlikely that he will get the job, because he just signed a contract with 560 WQAM. It would be highly unusual for two competing stations to have him on the payroll simultaneously.

- Jimmy Cefalo, who is also a former Miami Dolphins player. He is a television newscaster and has a radio show on AM 790. Cefalo may be the leading candidate at this point.

- Nick Buoniconti, who is best known for his stint on HBO's Inside the NFL. He was also a member of the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins.
