Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Poole could sit out the upcoming year after suffering a serious knee injury last week during minicamp. Poole was among the leading contenders - along with Reggie Howard, Mario Edwards, and rookie Travis Daniels - to take the spot vacated by new Kansas City Chiefs CB Patrick Surtain.

According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, it is feared that the second year CB tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. However, a return this season should not be ruled out given advances in surgical procedures and rehabilitation programs.

The 5'10", 193 lbs. Poole played 15 games in 2004, recording 31 tackles, 1 sack, and 5 pass deflections

The former USC standout was a fourth round pick for Miami in 2004.
