The Miami Dolphins are looking for a seasoned veteran to compliment the existing receiving corps comprised of TE Randy McMichael, Chris Chambers, and Marty Booker. Several players have come under the Dolphins microscope thus far.

Az Zahir Hakim is a name that has popped up recently. He is a speedy receiver who made his bones playing for the world champion St. Louis Cardinals. He then spent a few anonymous seasons playing in Detroit. Hakim seems like a good fit for the Miami Dolphins because of his speed. Nick Saban has expressed a desire to find a slot receiver that can stretch the field vertically.

Curtis Conway is another name that comes up. He is a 13 year vet who most recently played for the San Francisco 49ers. Conway enjoyed his best seasons when playing for the Chicago Bears and then the San Diego Chargers, but he is now well past the prime of his career.

Troy Brown is another aging veteran who played his entire career for the New England Patriots. Brown would prove useful because of his above average return skills. Although his best seasons are behind him, his combination of hands and toughness would make him an excellent possession receiver.

Another name that has resurfaced is that of David Boston. Boston was cut by the Miami Dolphins after just one year. He tore his patellar tendon in training camp last year forcing him to miss the entire season. While in rehab, he tested positive for anabolic steroids. He also ran into some off-field legal issues. I sincerely hope that speculation regarding Boston's return to the Miami Dolphins is nothing more than just that!

Another option that the Dolphins can pursue would be to wait until after the June 1st, and see what other veteran receivers are released for salary cap reasons.
