The oft injured and somewhat controversial David Boston will reportedly sign a one year contract with the Miami Dolphins. The exact details of the contract are a bit sketchy at this point, but one thing that is certain is that the dolphins are close to inking a deal to bring David Boston back to the Miami Dolphins.

Apparently, the Dolphins decision to cut Boston earlier this year had more to do with salary cap issues than it did with his injury problems and off field issues. David Boston missed the entire 04'- 05' season after suffering a torn patellar tendon during training camp. While rehabbing from that injury he had a run in with the law (punching an airport official in New Hampshire) and failed a league drug test. Despite these issues, Nick Saban expressed that he was comfortable with bringing the troubled receiver back to the team.

Boston considered playing for the San Francisco 49ers because they now employ his favorite wide receivers coach, Jerry Sullivan, who was a Miami Dolphins assistant last year. However, he received little interest from 49ers head coach Mike Nolan. Boston has recovered well from surgery to repair the torn knee tendon and is apparently back to running at full speed.
