The Miami Dolphins re-signed wide receiver David Boston on Wednesday. The contract is believed to be a one year deal for the veterans minimum of $540,000.

Boston had been released by the Dolphins on March 7, 2005 in a salary cap move. He was expected to be reunited with coach Jerry Sullivan - formerly the Dolphin's WR coach in 2004 - on the San Francisco 49ers, but head coach Mike Nolan decided to go with his younger receiving core.

To make room for Boston on the roster, the Dolphins waived wide receiver Tony Madison, who had been signed as an undrafted college free agent on April 29.

Boston missed the entire 2004 season after sustaining a severe knee injury during a training camp practice with the Texans in Houston on Aug. 6. Boston also recieved a four-game suspension last December for a violation of the league's steroid policy, which cost him approximately $1.35 million in base salary.

Boston is reportedly close to being fully rehabilitated from the knee injury, but only time will tell. Hopefully, he will be fully recovered once the pre-season begins, which will allow the Dolphins to go to camp with four legitimate recievers, if Derrius Thompson keeps improving.
