McQuarters scheduled to visit the Dolphins today

According to various reports, R.W. McQuarters is scheduled to visit the Miami Dolphins today. The cornerback/returner has spent the last five seasons with the Chicago Bears. McQuarters has played in every game for the past two seasons, so his durability seems solid. However, he only recorded two interceptions in each of the past two seasons; a modest total at best for a starting cornerback.

There is another factor that mostly likely piqued the interest of Nick Saban and the rest of the Miami Dolphins staff. R.W. McQuarters could prove to be a significant asset as a punt returner. He scored a touchdown on a punt in each of the past two seasons, had seven returns of over 20 yards in each of the past two seasons, and averaged extremely healthy return averages of 12.2 and 9.9 respectively.

If he can agree to a cap friendly contract, he would be a welcome addition to our secondary and special teams.
