Joe Rose unhappy with Nick Saban’s zipped lips antics

Joe Rose went off the deep end this morning, condemning Nick Saban's tight lipped approach to media relations. He was apparently upset at the fact that Nick Saban refused to discuss the hiring of Randy Mueller on this morning's "Nick Saban Show" which is hosted by Joe Rose and is featured on 790 AM "The Ticket". Rose implied that Nick Saban has taken his secretive and guarded approach too far by choosing not to elaborate on hiring of a high profile GM who has been an analyst on ESPN for the past few seasons.

Joe Rose admitted that he can understand why Saban takes such a guarded approach when it comes to sharing information with the media. He contrasted Saban's approach with the "leaky ship" administration style of former coach Dave Wannstedt. The Wannstedt regime was plagued by anonymous media leaks and an overabundance of opinions spilling out of the Miami Dolphins' headquarters in Davie.

Still, Rose reiterated his displeasure with Saban's overall approach. He questioned how discussing the Mueller hiring would compromise the team in anyway and accused Saban of mistreating the media, referring to himself as one of Saban's "media bitches". Rose also poked fun at himself, mentioning that he doubts that the head coach will return to do another show with him and how Saban was "stuck with him" only because fellow 790 AM personality Dan Le Batard turned down the opportunity to host the coach's show.
