Maybe "2nd Tier" isn't a fair label for these guys. All three have contributed in some way, and all three still believe that they can make this roster and contribute to the Miami Dolphins in the upcoming season. Lamar Gordon, Travis Minor, Sammy Morris are still here grinding it out for the Dolphins. While Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown hog the entire spotlight, these three NFL journeymen are working their butts off behind the scenes this off-season.

Lamar Gordon who is coming off shoulder surgery, and missed most of last season, has been extremely impressive thus far. The Dolphins gave up a 3rd round pick for his services, so I expect him to get some playing time if he keeps up his intensity and impressive running. Travis Minor was a 3rd round pick for the Miami Dolphins, but that was many moons ago. Minor is sure to make an impact on special teams. He has been one of our most consistent performers in that area both in the coverage and return game. However, now that the Dolphins have signed a rookie running back that is known for having good hands and plenty of speed, it is unlikely that Minor will be able to get playing time even as a 3rd down back. Sammy Morris is blessed with versatility. The fact that he can play fullback bodes well for him. He should find himself cracking the starting lineup at that position, unless Nick Saban decides to go with a more conventional "blocking" fullback.

The reality is that one, two, or possibly all three of these backs could find themselves wearing new uniforms sooner than later. That makes their work ethic and dedication to the Miami Dolphins all the more impressive.
