Is anyone else tired of all the Ricky Williams talk? It seems like every time I open up a newspaper or log onto the internet there's a new story popping up about the running back that everybody loves to hate.

Is he too light? Does he really want to play? Does he have to pay back the 8 million dollars? Will he play for the veteran minimum? Is he driving to Miami (obviously not)? Will he be the starter? Does he still smoke weed?

These are just a sampling of the myriad of questions that have been hurled by the media and fans alike. Even the national pundits have chimed in and added fuel to the Ricky Williams media fire.

Sadly, there are lot of more interesting "football" questions that should be occupying the mind of fans. For example:

Who will be our starting quarterback?
Is Ronnie Brown the real deal or is he too soft?
Do we have legitimate starting safeties?
Who (if anybody) is going to fill Patrick Surtain's shoes?
Will the 3-4 be heavily utilized, and if so will it work?

As of today, I refuse discuss Ricky Williams unless it relates to on-field considerations. If he's hurt I'll write about it. If he suits up and hits the field I'll write about it. However, if you're looking for some comic relief editorial about his weed smoking and healing practices please go elsewhere.
