Apparently, Rick Spielman is not as horrible as Miami Dolphins made him out to be. Mere weeks after leaving (or possibly being forced out of) the Miami Dolphins, the former Phins GM has been interviewed by the Atlanta Falcons for a position in their personnel department.

As you all know, Spielman was replaced by former New Orleans Saints GM Randy Mueller. Spielman was one of the most maligned Miami Dolphins staff members in recent history.

Despite the negative impression that Spielman left on South Florida, he is likely to land a prominent role on another NFL team. Although the Atlanta Falcons have not disclosed the nature of the position that Spielman interviewed for, it is likely to be a prominent position such as general manager or VP of player personnel.

The Falcons recently fired their VP of player personnel Ron Hill. They also lost their assistant GM Tim Ruskell. He left to become president of the Seattle Seahawks.
