It seems like only yesterday that a young Randy McMichael was bursting onto the scene with the Miami Dolphins. I knew he was going to be a good NFL player, because he was a solid tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs. What I didn't know is that he would become a Pro Bowl caliber force within three seasons. Further still, I did not know that he would become a habitual domestic abuser and a selfish teammate in the locker room.

Let's start with the domestic abuse:
Most of you already know that Randy McMichael was arrested last night on misdemeanor counts of simple battery and criminal trespassing after getting into an altercation with his wife at a Waffle House restaurant in Grovetown, Georgia. This is the second time in just over a year that he has been arrested for allegedly striking his wife. Both times alcohol has been involved. At what point will Randy McMichael figure out how to control himself and control his alcohol intake so that he can avoid these violent outbursts?

Now let's move onto his selfish actions:
Randy Michael is supposed to be one of the leaders of the Miami Dolphins, but it is hard to be a team leader when you are perpetually embarrassing yourself in public by being arrested for domestic abuse. In addition, McMichael revealed another selfish tendency last season; Randy began to voice his displeasure at not getting enough passes thrown his way, despite the fact that he was the team's leading receiver at that point in the season and was getting relatively high number of passes thrown his way (especially when you consider that he's a tight end). For a minute there, he started to sound like Freddie "Cry Baby" Mitchell.

Understand one thing. Randy McMichael is one of our best players. I love his passion for the game and his effort on the field. He is one of my personal favorites because of his knack for delivering punishment, breaking tackles, showing great hands, and playing to win. However, I refuse to let these ridiculous transgressions slide. McMichael needs to be more accountable for his actions. That means no more fighting with his better half, no more arrests for domestic abuse, and no more childish bickering for more balls getting thrown his way. C'mon Randy. We love you here in Miami, but it's time to get your act together big guy.
