With injuries already mounting on the Miami Dolphins' offensive line, Wade Smith is the latest casualty to add to the ever expanding list. On Monday, Smith, who has been practicing as the backup center, suffered an arm injury that could possibly be season-ending.

The 6-4, 315 pound converted center, may have broken his right forearm as well as injuring his wrist and hand during the morning practice. Smith could miss eight to ten weeks. Since the injury would keep him out until early in the regular season, the Miami Dolphins will have to decide whether to keep open a roster spot or put him on injured reserve.

Wade Smith, whom Miami selected in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft as a left tackle, was a consensus All-Rookie selection that year. In the 2004 season, after a dismal performances in just two games, Smith was relegated to the bench in favor of Damion McIntosh and played sparingly the rest of the season. During this off-season, Wade Smith was converted to play center and was a second stringer behind starter Seth McKinney.

The Miami Dolphins are already practicing without offensive linemen Jeno James, Jason Thomas, Anthony Alabi, and Eric Wilson. Head Coach Nick Saban is hoping that LG Jeno James will be back by the end of the week. Backup G Eric Wilson, who contemplated retirement after leaving camp abruptly, has supposedly had a change of heart and is set to return to camp soon.
