The Miami Dolphins acquired cornerback Kris Richard from the Seattle Seahawks for defensive end Ronald Flemons to bolster the depth at an already depleted secondary. Richard was a third round pick by the Seahawks in the 2002 NFL draft. The 5-11, 190 pound cornerback played primarily in Seattle's dime package and on special teams the past three seasons. Kris Richard's most productive year was last season when he had 24 total tackles.

After coming to the Miami Dolphins last season, Ronald Flemons spent the year between the 53-man roster and the developmental squad. He played in one game, against the Arizona Cardinals in week 9, and registered just one tackle.
