The Eagles signed defensive tackle Dan Klecko to a two-year contract Monday, and plan to play him at fullback in 2008. In his five seasons in the NFL, Klecko has played fullback and defensive tackle, catching three touchdowns in his career, including one for the Colts in their AFC Championship victory over New England in 2007. Klecko weighs 275 pounds, and plans on shedding 20 pounds before the start of training camp.

Commentary: The Eagles let FB Thomas Tapeh sign with his hometown team, the Vikings, this off-season, but Klecko, a Marlboro, N.J., gives them a hometown hero of their own. He was used in spots as a goal line and short-yardage option, but wasn't used outside the red zone in an offensive capacity.

Fantasy Football Impact: The fullback doesn't play a strong scoring role in the West Coast Offense, and considering Tapeh's numbers were miniscule despite being considerably more athletic, Klecko won't be taking touches away from RB Brian Westbrook.
