After the recent NFL roster cuts, the Philadelphia Eagles fulfilled their need for a big running back by picking up Lamar Gordon. Gordon was waived off by the Miami Dolphins.
At 6-foot-1 and 223-pound, Gordon is definitely a big back. In his three seasons in the NFL, Gordon has carried the ball 171 times for 590 yards and scored two touchdowns, he has also completed 51 receptions for 411 yards.

Back in 2002, the Rams picked up Gordon in the third round of the draft. He spent two years with St. Louis before he was traded to Miami last season, just two days before the opener.

Despite the Dolphins' troubles at the running back position last season, Gordon only played in three games before being sidelined the remainder of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

After the loss of Correll Buckhalter, the Eagles have been in need of a back with size. Previous to the addition of Lamar Gordon, the Eagles had Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook, rookie Ryan Moats, and third-year pro Reno Mahe, all of who are listed at 5-10 or shorter and under 212 pounds.
