For the first time since returning to the Philadelphia Eagles from his week-long suspension last month, star wide receiver Terrell Owens spoke to the media.

In his comments, Owens denies that he has turned a deaf ear to his teammates, and he says he plans on sitting down and having a talk with quarterback Donovan McNabb before the Eagles regular season opener on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons.

When asked if he and McNabb could co-exist, Owens cited his pre-season debut against the Cincinnati Bengals, in which he caught a 64-yard touchdown reception and ended up with five receptions for 131 yards. Owens says he knows the cameras will be focused on him when his team plays the Falcons in a nationally televised game; he told reporters he'll be ready to go out and play football.

Earlier, Owens threatened to hold out of training camp after Eagles general manager Joe Banner refused to renegotiate the 7-year $49 million contract the All-Pro receiver signed upon his arrival in Philadelphia. Shortly after Owens did report to camp, he got into a verbal confrontation with head coach Andy Reid and was sent home for a week.

In an interview a couple days after that, he referred to McNabb as a "hypocrite".
