Despite all of the troubles the Philadelphia Eagles are having with injuries, Philadelphia fans are still right behind their team looking for a Super Bowl appearance for the second straight year.

Those hopes are riding on the health of Donovan McNabb. The franchise signal-caller is now reportedly playing through an injured abdominal strain that will likely need surgery, but the Pro-Bowler said he would play through the pain. McNabb is expected to start this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs despite the sports hernia as well as the lingering soreness in his chest and a shin contusion. So far, his injuries have not effected his performance in any significant way.

Unfortunately, David Akers will not be as fortunate. The Eagles kicker will miss Sunday's game against Kansas City with a torn hamstring. He will likely be out for several weeks.

One of the keys for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday will be stopping the Chiefs' running game. The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off an embarrassing loss on Monday night and will be looking to bounce back when they play the hurting Eagles at 4:15 pm ET.
