Tonight, during the Steelers-Cardinals preseason game, I have just learned that Michael Vick has just signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. I find that a very interesting move to say the least.

This move raises a lot of questions to say the least. Number one, I wonder how is current quarterback Donovan McNabb is taking this? What role would he play in the offense? What position would he play? Will he actually play in the team’s final two preseason games now that he would be eligible to play in?

One would have to automatically think that McNabb can not be taking this too well. But who knows? A lot stranger things have happened.

McNabb has been the face of the Eagles during the past decade and has done a lot since he was drafted out of Syracuse to say the least. Earlier in this decade, he also signed a long term contract as well.

Do not get me wrong, I am happy to see Vick signed to a team considering that the Eagles’ backup quarterback position is rather inexperienced, but at the same time, he is virtually the same type of player that McNabb is.

But who knows, this might be somewhat of an insurance policy for the team. I along with a whole lot of football fans are totally caught off guard with this one.

I really would like to know how are the fans in Philly going to react to this news….hey, it might work out or it may not. I am banking on the fact that the Philly brain trust most certainly hope that everything works out.

A lot is truly riding on this one……..A WHOLE LOT!!!
