The Philadelphia Eagles came to terms with running back Brian Westbrook. The restricted free agent signed a 1 year franchised tender worth $1.43 million. The Pro Bowl RB was expected to participate in the Eagles minicamp this week.

The 5 foot 10 inch, 205 pound Westbrook had been seeking a long-term contract, but was forced to sign before June 15. At that point, the team could have reduced their offer.

The former Villanova Wildcat became a starter in 2004 after Duce Staley left for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent and Correll Buckhalter suffered a season-ending knee injury. The versatile Westbrook enters his fourth season in the NFL with high expectations as the Eagles seek a return to the Super Bowl.
