After two consecutive hold out situations in his last two seasons, Terrell Owens finally reported to Philadelphia Eagles training camp. Owens, who's never been a shy guy, refused to speak to reporters on his way into the Eagles practice facility. Although Terrell Owens had nothing to say, his agent Drew Rosenhaus gave the following statement, "All the talk, all the rhetoric in the off-season is meaningless, He's here. He's not happy with his contract, but he's a professional and he'll do his best to help the Eagles win a championship."
After earning $9.16 million last year and completing only one season of the original seven-year $48.97 million deal signed last year, both Terrell Owens and his "Jerry McGuire" inspiring agent Drew Rosenhaus have been bargaining for a new contract that would "show them the money." Thus far, the Philadelphia Eagles have refused to budge. Owens and his agent will be meeting with Eagles coach Andy Reid and President Joe Banner on Tuesday to discuss the contract.
With 9,772 receiving yards and 95 T.D.'s in his career, and after being sidelined for part of the season with a broken leg, and still managing to set team records with 14 touchdown receptions and seven 100-yard games during the season, T.O. remains one of the best receivers in the league. However, his penchant for creating controversy, questionable on-field behavior, and a downright insatiable hunger for fatter contracts stain his overall reputation.
