Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Jordan Beck is likely out for the season. Beck tore a ligament at the base of his left toes during an interception return in the fourth quarter of Atlanta's 23-7 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A third-round pick from Cal Poly-SLO, Beck had led the Falcons in tackles in two preseason games. He was expected to back up middle linebacker Ed Hartwell.

The Atlanta Falcons could wait until August 30 before putting Beck on injured reserve. The rookie linebacker is scheduled to visit a foot specialist September 1 in Charlotte, NC. It is likely that he will have surgery which would effectively end his season.
