On Monday, Atlanta Falcons CB Kevin Mathis was ejected for fighting. On Tuesday, he found out that he would be fined $10,000 by the NFL. On Wednesday, he suffered a potentially career threatening injury to his left knee in practice. To say that this hasn't been a good week for Kevin Mathis is definitely an understatement.

After missing out on the Atlanta Falcons' titanic battle with the NFC rival Philadelphia Eagles Mathis was poised to return to practice and get ready for next week. However while defending a pass in Wednesday's practice the nine-year veteran came down awkwardly and tore his ACL and two other ligaments in his left knee. This injury will require intensive rehab and could potentially end his career. Surgery is scheduled for next week.
