Commentary: Atlanta kicker Jason Elam has had his share of game-winning kicks during his NFL career, but it's not often that he has had the pressure of kicking one to make up for a previous shank. That didn't stop Elam from booting a 48-yarder at the end of regulation Sunday to stifle an improbable Chicago comeback in a 22-20 Falcons victory. The irony is that the comeback wouldn't have been possible without a missed field goal that the former Bronco sent wide left with 2:43 remaining in the game.

Elam's game-winner was his fifth field goal of the day, tying his career high. With it, he put Atlanta at 4-2 and in very unfamiliar territory. The Falcons remain in the NFC South title race, something even the biggest Falcons fans could not have predicted before the season. Part of the team's revival has come in the form of a kicking unit that will stay in the top five in points going into Week 7.

Fan Pulse:
Many of Atlanta's finest couch warriors were left a little misty eyed when the Falcons upset the Bears on Sunday: http://life.atlantafalcons.com/index.php?showtopic=3807187.

Fantasy Football Commentary: Elam is a perfect example that you shouldn't waste time picking a kicker in fantasy drafts. Elam was largely disregarded in drafts and now he is averaging over 10 points a game. If he's on the waiver wire, go and get him.

Injury Watch:
Wide receiver Roddy White was a question mark heading into Week 6 with a head injury. White apparently took some good aspirin, because he went off for his third 100-yard receiving game of the season. The Falcons have a bye in Week 7, so White should be well-rested when he faces Philadelphia in Week 8.
