If you look up the definition of the word "crushing," you might see the Atlanta Falcons' 27-14 Sunday loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles outplayed Atlanta for much of Sunday's game, but it appeared that the Falcons were going to have a chance to pull out a victory and climb to 5-2. That all changed with a single bounce in front of Falcons punt returner Adam Jennings and a blown call by the officials.

Commentary: The irony is that the Falcons' defense, which has been awful, finally made a stop on a big drive. For most of the season, Matt Ryan and the Falcons' high-flying offense have been relied on to save the day. But they were never given a chance and the Falcons now find themselves at 4-3, losing ground to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC South.

Fan Pulse:
The Falcons forum are getting their feathers ruffled, understandably, over the "muffed" punt against Philly: http://life.atlantafalcons.com/index.php?showtopic=3810240.

Fantasy Football Commentary: Michael Turner will blow up this weekend. Why? He does well against pitiful teams and bombs against good defenses. Oakland gives up 144 yards on the ground, so Turner should have a field day.

Injury Watch: DE Jamaal Anderson suffered a concussion Sunday. We will keep you posted on his availability for this week.
