The Oakland Raiders may be awful, but the fact the Atlanta defense held them to just 77 total yards and three first downs in a 24-0 shutout Sunday is incredibly impressive. A bonus is that they did it without ex-team cancer DeAngelo Hall, who had to sit and watch his new Oakland team get manhandled.

Commentary: Defensive end John Abraham got three sacks in the win and has looked every bit the part of a Pro Bowl starter this year. His sack total is up to 11 this season and if he isn't picked to play in Honolulu, something is seriously wrong with the voters.

The shutout against Oakland was Atlanta's first in six years, but there is no time to get complacent in its success. After all, the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints (4-4), desperate for a victory, are waiting for 5-3 Atlanta. How much Atlanta has grown will be found out this week against the mighty Saints offense.

Fan Pulse:
Atlanta fans are pledging allegiance to Roddy White after he faced three of the toughest cornerbacks in the game.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
It may be time to look at WR Michael Jenkins in deeper 12-team leagues. Jenkins had a season-high 64 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Raiders.

Injury Watch:
LB Michael Boley was active Sunday with a quadriceps injury, but he only registered one tackle.
