FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia - The Atlanta Falcons re-signed cornerback Kevin Mathis and fullback Fred McCrary.

Mathis has spent the last 3 seasons with the Falcons after beginning his 9 year NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys in 1997. He started 12 games last year, registering 67 tackles, 2 interceptions - both for touchdowns - and 6 passes defended.

The veteran CB became only the second player in franchise history to return 2 INTs for TDs in the same season. In his 3 seasons with Atlanta, he has 114 tackles, 6 interceptions and 9 passes defended in 40 games.

McCrary was signed by the Falcons on December 15 after injuries to FBs Stanley Pritchett and George Layne. He started Atlanta's final 2 regular season games and 2 playoff contests.

McCrary began his 9 year NFL career as a sixth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1996. He has also played for the New Orleans Saints, San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots.
