This past Monday, Atlanta Falcons president and GM Rich McKay and Sporting News editorial director John Rawlings presented Warrick Dunn with the Sporting News' #1 Good Guy award during a press conference at the Arthur M. Blank family offices. Warrick will also be honored in the annual Good Guys issue of Sporting News along with 95 other athletes.

Warrick Dunn has always been one of the biggest "good guys" in sports. Dunn's mother was gunned down while he was in High School, so he devoted himself during his college days to helping raise his five siblings. As soon as he got some NFL money he created the Warrick Dunn foundation to help build homes for single moms. To date the Warrick Dunn Foundation has assisted 52 single mothers and 135 children in Atlanta, GA, Baton Rouge, LA, and Tampa, FL.

In an age were many professional athletes are guilty of extreme selfishness and greed, Warrick Dunn has quietly given back a wealth of his time and his money to help his community. He is definitely very deserving of the award and the recognition.
